TV fans of NBC's "Parenthood" should brace themselves for an all-new heartbreaking season.

In a recent interview with TVLine, show creator Jason Katims hinted that the Bravermans will face a new challenge and lose a precious loved one.

"We've never told a story about losing someone in the family, and that is a very difficult story for us to tell. But it's one that I feel is a reality," said Katims.

There will also be a change in the dynamic of Joel and Julia's rocky marriage in Season 6, "where it's Joel who's trying to get back into Julia's good graces. It's about refining Julia, who decides to move on with her life," said the executive producer.

In addition, Hank's ex-wife Sandy, played by "Breaking Bad" star Betsy Brandt, will move back to the area with their daughter seeking parenting help to raise Ruby, who is now at a difficult age.

Last month, "Parenthood" dropped a shocking spoiler in a video teaser that confirmed that Amber is indeed pregnant with Ryan's baby.

As many TV fans can recall, Amber walked into a convenience store and purchased a pregnancy test in the Season 5 finale of "Parenthood," leaving viewers wondering whether or not she got pregnant after she and Ryan rekindled their old flame.

The Season 6 promo basically let the cat out of the bag by showing Amber in a doctor's office looking at a sonogram.

Katims also revealed during an interview with TV Guide that a cohesive and inclusive storyline will run throughout the entire sixth season.

"We wanted to have a strong central story that would bring everybody together, that would touch everybody in the show," he said. "I felt like the one thing that was sort of similar was [Kristina's] breast cancer story line in Season 4, but I think that this one has the weight of that, but will actually even be more impactful on the entire cast."

Season 6 of "Parenthood" is slated to begin on Sept. 25 on NBC.
