From the looks of a new trailer video, Season 6 of "The Vampire Diaries" will be intense as Elena becomes desperate to find Damon and Stefan gets intimate with a new love interest.

During the epic Season 5 finale, Damon and Bonnie scarificed their lives and died as The Other Side was being destroyed, leaving their friends and lovers in burning despair.

In a new teaser video of Season 6, which kicks off several months later, Elena reminisces about everything that her on-again off-again boyfriend Damon has done for her and how much he means to her.

"I want to thank you for giving me everything I ever wanted: the love that consumed me, adventure, passion. There's nothing more that I could have asked for -- except for it to last forever," she says in the clip.

However, she gets lost in her emotions and begins to feed on humans.

Apparently, Damon will also be determined to reunite with Elena while he is trapped on The Other Side with Bonnie.

"Damon's singular goal is to get back to Elena and his brother -- but that doesn't make it any easier to escape from the mysterious place that currently imprisons him," said TVD co-creator Julie Plec in a recent interview with E!.

Until then, he'll have to deal with being stuck with Bonnie as they continue to "get on each other's nerves like an old married couple," said executive producer Caroline Dries, reports TVLine.

In the meantime, the promo reveals that Stefan will hit the sheets with a hot new girl named Ivy, played by "Days of Our Lives" actress Emily C. Chang. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ivy is "the quintessential girl next door with an unexpected wild side."

Dries dropped other spoilers about Season 6, revealing that Stefan is not ready to settle down because he "doesn't have the emotional energy for a relationship." She added that even when he is ready, he's still "a typical guy who just sees Caroline as a friend."

However, there's a chance that Caroline may find romance with a new guy that Elena meets in her pre-med program named Liam, played by actor Marco James. According to Elena, the two are "the perfect match."

The promo also teases that a pair of campers will be in jeopardy, despite the fact Mystic Falls is a magic-free zone with no immediate danger.

Viewers can also expect to see a crossover between "The Vampire Diaries" and its hit spin-off series "The Originals," which E! revealed has already been shot.

Season 6 of "The Vampire Diaries" will return to The CW on Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. EST.
