Yes, ladies, it's official: Ryan Gosling is a daddy. And guys, Eva Mendes is officially a mommy.

People reports that the gorgeous couple welcomed a daughter -- she is the first child for both actors.

The high profile couple -- Mendes, 40, and Gosling, 33 -- began dating in 2011 when they co-starred in the 2012 drama "The Place Beyond the Pines."

While People confirmed the pregnancy in July, the couple kept Mendes's baby bump hidden as best as they could amid the media speculation. Mendes also tried to play it off in earlier interviews, including one with Ellen DeGeneres.

According to Us Weekly, "Earlier this year, Mendes laughed off pregnancy rumors during an appearance on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show.' 'It's so ridiculous,' she said back in February. 'It all started because I didn't want to go through the scanners at the airport. You know those X-ray scanners, which are really creepy? They basically see you naked, right? And not only that, but there's a radiation aspect to it, so I always opt out.'"

She also "opted out" of the truth, and can you blame her?

"Mendes reportedly kept a low profile during her pregnancy, making her last red carpet appearance at a Violet Grey dinner honoring the late Elizabeth Taylor in LA on Feb. 26," Us Weekly said. "After news broke, she went to considerable lengths to cover up her baby bump with several pieces of clothing and a large bag while leaving a parking structure in LA on June 10. Gosling, meanwhile, quietly stepped out to pump his own gas in LA on Aug. 5."

"Their lives completely changed as soon as Eva got pregnant. They used to travel all over the place together and go on hikes with their dogs. [But in the past few months] she barely left the house," a source told People. "Ryan has been taking care of her, picking up food and running errands. He has been very supportive of keeping things a secret."

While the pregnancy was kept as low-key as possible, the curiosity continued to swirl around them. Despite the inquiring minds of the public, the couple is reportedly extremely thrilled to welcome their new addition. 

"This has been a long time coming," the pal said of the very private parents-to-be, People reports. "Ryan and Eva definitely discussed children before. She knows how much he wants to be a dad and he's going to be an amazing father."
