'Dragon Age: Inquisition' Stage, Release Date & Gameplay News: Bioware Producer Talks Skyhold, War Table Features
As gamers inch ever closer to again battling dragons in medieval times in BioWare's much-anticipated "Dragon Age: Inquisition," the game's developers slowly have began divulging teasing nuggets of information about the upcoming game.
Recently, BioWare developer Cameron Lee dished about a few of the new "Dragon Age" features, including Skyhold and the War Table.
Skyhold is a castle that serves as the base of operations in the new "Dragon Age" game, which is slated for release on Nov. 18. From Skyhold, gamers can "decide the fate of nations, direct your agents throughout Thedas, pass judgment on your enemies, and decide how you will personally take action against the Elder One," Lee told The Epoch Times.
Players can also train in Skyhold, as well as choose weapons and even the horse on which they will ride into battle.
Plus, Skyhold is customizable, with gamers able to choose how major parts of the castle look, as well as work on interior design by adding decorations like "statues, windows, drapes, furniture, and even the heraldry your Inquisition forces will take into the world."
Then there is the War Table, a guide to the more than 300 missions and objectives that are available to gamers in "Dragon Age: Inquisition," Lazy Gamer reported. Depending on the player's choices early in the game, some missions and objectives could later change.
At the War Table, players have three advisors: Leliana, Cullen and Josephine. Each advisor represents one of he three pillars of power in the game: espionage, military and politics. And each advisor has an area of expertise, Lee said.
"Leliana is the leader of your agents who uncover secrets, assassinate enemies, and sabotage your enemy's organization. Cullen leads your military, so he's focused on building your army and training and equipping your forces so you can use them as a hammer against the Elder One. Josephine uses political power and diplomacy to advance your Inquisition's cause. Each of the advisors will want to approach challenges in different ways, but it's your choice about which action to take."
During gameplay, players earn influence and power as they complete missions and objectives. That influence and power can then be spent at the War Table to begin a new storyline.
