When iOS 7 was released in 2013, users were excited by the visual changes and extra features. iOS 8 debuts Wednesday, and while it will not have the visual changes that iOS 7 had, it will have plenty of extra features and utlities.

Here are the Top 5 reasons to update to iOS 8:

New Keyboards: This is a feature that has been available to Android phones for quite some time. No longer will you be stuck with Apple's boring keyboard. You can jazz it up and download one. It depends on how you like to type your e-mails or text your friends. There will be tons of Apple-approved keyboards available later today that will give you an alternative to Apple's built in keyboard.

Bugs in iOS 7: Most certainly iOS 8 will address the many bugs that iOS 7 users are experiencing. Sure, iOS 8 will have bugs of its own, but iOS 8 has been in development for months and certainly they have squashed some of the bugs that iOS 7 was plagued with.

Battery Life: If your battery life was awful on iOS 7, you are not alone. Many users complained about iPhone battery life in iOS 7 draining more quickly than they are used to. In iOS 8, there is a battery usage tool that will tell you which apps are hogging your battery and how to act on them. You might be thinking, "aren't there apps for that already?" Sure, there are, but with this utility (which can be found in the Usage section of Settings) you will be able to see more about your battery and how to make changes to save on battery.

Better Performance: With Retina displays in the 5s and iPads, performance will likely improve with iOS 8. These are the latest devices (other than the iPhone 6), they command the best software possible and an upgrade to iOS 8 will help them.

FaceTime will be "100x" Better Audio Quality: If you like using FaceTime to talk to your friends, you will want to upgrade to iOS 8. The audio quality is going to be much, much better. Plus, you will be able to see the person you are talking to and, now, hear them much better!

The new iOS is available starting Wednesday at 1 p.m. EDT.

What do you think about the new iOS 8? Will you update Wednesday or will you wait?
