NBA star LeBron James married longtime girlfriend Savannah Brinson over the weekend at a private resort in San Diego.

Around 200 people attended the private ceremony, including teammates Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh as well as coach Erik Spoelstra and friend Carmelo Anthony. The celebrity wedding was topped off with a performance by Jay-Z and Beyonce, who sang "Crazy in Love" as Beyonce took time away from her tour in Brazil.

The wedding took place under heavy security and cell phones were taken away so that details of the event would not spread and to avoid unwanted social media posts.

Bosh's wife, Adrienne, said on Twitter that she had a "wonderful" evening and thanked the newlyweds for the great time.

"Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. James...Thanks for sharing Ur night & love with us," she wrote.

James and Brinson, who have two boys, aged 8 and 6, finally tied the knot after dating since they were 16. LeBron proposed to her at a New Year's event in 2012 and the couple had to wait until after this summer was over to get married because of his busy schedule.

The Miami Heat has won back to back NBA titles and he was named the finals MVP for the second straight season. The Heat will start the preseason on Oct. 7 when the team will host the Atlanta Hawks.

The 28-year-old NBA star is the cover athlete for the upcoming NBA 2K14 video game, which will be released in stores next month. He is the highest rated player in the game, with a 99 rating.
