Hannah Graham has been missing for two weeks now, and the police still are not sure where she could be. However, police have arrested suspect Jesse Leroy Matthew Jr., who had managed to evade police until he was caught in Texas earlier this week.

Since Sept. 13, Graham, 18, has been missing, launching a search that has engulfed the Commonwealth of Virginia and has reached Texas. However, police still do not know where the missing University of Virginia is, despite having searched most of the area around Charlottesville and inspecting various surveillance videos.

"We still have no idea whatsoever where she is, despite our best efforts," Charlottesville Police Chief Timothy Longo told reporters, according to The Associated Press. "We have an obligation to bring her home, one way or the other. That's what we promised to do."

The Associated Press reported that Matthew, 32, was arrested in Texas some 1,200 miles away from Charlottesville in Galveston County, Texas. Police believe he may have been trying to cross the border into Mexico.

Thursday morning, the former football player appeared at a Galveston County court via video link from jail and has been charged in Texas with being a fugitive from justice and giving false information to a police officer. He had been arrested on Wednesday, and Virginia police arrived in Texas on Thursday afternoon.

According to ABC News, Matthew had been charged with abduction with intent to defile as well as an unrelated charge of dangerous driving and fled Virginia after being questioned by police. Matthew is the main suspect in Graham's disappearance.

"We've reached that point that the commonwealth thought we had sufficient probable cause for an arrest warrant. We obtained an arrest warrant for Jesse Matthew Jr. charging him with the class 2 felony of abduction with intent to defile," Longo said.

The Associated Press explains that Matthew was the last person to be seen with Graham when he encountered the college student at Tempo Restaurant in downtown Charlottesville the night of her disappearance. Cameras recorded him walking away with a heavily intoxicated Graham.

Graham had gone out with friends the night of Friday, Sept. 12, but was not seen since she left a party alone. Her last communication, a text, was sent to her friends at around 1:20 a.m. Saturday morning. Surveillance cameras place her in downtown Charlottesville before she sent the text.

Now in police custody, Virginia police will return with Matthew after the suspect willingly surrendered his extradition rights, according to KTRK, facilitating the suspect's transfer. When Matthew appeared in front of Magistrate Judge Mark Henry, he appeared confused and asked the judge to continuously repeat and explain what was happening.
