iPhone 5 vs. 5s Specs, Size, Battery Life: Right Time to Buy After iPhone 6/Plus Release
With the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus coming out, there has been a clamor for the price reduced iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S. As the specs of the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S are still some of the best in the market, they have become even more popular now with the arrival of their pricier counterparts, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
According to GSM Arena, the iPhone 5 boasts of a larger screen and better internal specs. It also comes with a slimmer and sleeker body that will fit perfectly in just one hand. The phone is a quad-band GSM phone that supports 3G and LTE. Its 4-inch touchscreen is perfect for taking pictures. It also comes with a scratch resistant screen made of glass. The screen also has fingerprint resistant coating on it. The 1.2 GHZ dual core CPU comes with 1 GB of RAM. It comes with an 8 MP camera which is good news for users for whom the phone is their primary camera.
An upgraded version of the iPhone 5, the iPhone 5S, is well known for having the Touch ID, a new fingerprint scanner technology. It also comes with a bigger sensor for the camera. But the biggest improvement would be the 64-bit A7 chip, making this a phone with better memory. Because of its power, it is able to take on more complex applications and functions. In fact, this is the closest it gets to the OS X of the desktop. However one downside would be that the battery is sealed in. Moreover, there is no support for expandable storage.
Both phones come with the standard WiFi, video recording, camera and GPS features. For storage, you can choose between 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. They both have Apple maps, voice recognition, Siri and Facetime. In a nutshell, they are almost the same, with the exception of a few tweaks.
