Gold-plated Lamborghini Sold for $7.5 Million – World’s Most Expensive Car
Dubbed the world's most expensive car, this gold Lamborghini is sure to turn heads on the road. The thing is, it hasn't been made yet.
German scale model builder Robert Gulpen presented the gold-plated Lamborghini prototype model in a 1:8 scale. According to the Examiner, the finished gold plated Lamborghini car will be carved out of a block of solid gold weighing 1,100 pounds.
The resulting car will make use of roughly 55 pounds of solid gold. As if all those gold was not enough, the gold plated Lamborghini car will also be adorned with precious metals and gemstones. The adornments are reportedly valued at $2.64 million.
The gold plated Lamborghini will take the form of the LP-700-4 Lamborghini Aventador and will be a custom-made model. The car will not only be superb on the outside but is also powered by no less than all the good stuff under the hood.
A V-12 engine which reaches up to 700 horsepower will take the gold plated Lamborghini's passengers from 0 to 100 kilometers an hour in less than three seconds.
The gold Lamborghini Aventador will be auctioned off with a starting price of $7.5 million. According to Gulpen, $650,000 will be "reserved for a charitable purpose."
He also stated that the world's most expensive car can be a combination of any material which the buyer likes. In his website, he mentioned materials such as gold, carbon, platinum and precious stones small or large. However, the rims will be casted from solid gold and platinum. The interior of the car like the seats, the cockpit and the steering wheel will also be made from the same materials.
Last year, another gold Lamborghini was up for grabs at Miami. The car was an Aventador AU79 and was priced at $550,000. The AU79 was covered in gold foil and was a creation of Lamborghini itself.
