'Dragon Age: Inquisition' Stage, Release Date & Gameplay News: 'Dragon Age: Origins' Free for a Limited Time
Popular RPG game Dragon Age: Origins is currently available for free on the website Origin.com. The game will only be available for a limited time but those who download it will have the game permanently. This comes a month before the release of the video game's newest installments: Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Kotaku reports that the first game in the series will be available for free until October 14.
According to Origin.com, the game is available because of the site's "On the House" promotion, which randomly gives away free games.
"Our goal is to provide a great gaming experience and a way to discover awesome new games," explains the website. "Having a game in your library, for free, is a fantastic way to see what Origin is all about."
One only needs to make an Origin.com account to download the game gratis, a small price to pay for a free video game. Video game aficionados who were wondering what the Dragon Age series is like can calm their appetites with this free version of the game. Origin.com guarantees that it is not a trial but the full version of the game at no cost.
However, PC World reports that the version available does not contain the Awakening expansion as well as other downloadable content
Yet, gamers can play Origins as they await the release of the Dragon Age: Inquisition on November 18, though fans can preorder the game now.
According to Playstation LifeStyle, the wait may be worth it. Unlike the first and second installments of the game, Inquisition is expected to be far more difficult. In the interview with BioWare producer Cameron Lee, the site confirms as well that players will not have to use tactical view if they do not want to. The AI available for team play in the new game will also be improved, according to the interview.
BioWare is the video game developer behind the Dragon Age series.
