Lady Gaga Takes Photos with San Antonio Spurs, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Larry O'Brien Trophy
The San Antonio Spurs are the defending NBA Champions of the basketball world. Their preseason began on Oct. 8 in Berlin, Germany against the Alba Berlin. Alba Berlin won the game 94-93 on a late basket. But it's only preseason, where the games don't officially count. Often times, we see celebrities steal the show during preseason exhibition games.
One of the most popular singers in the United States, Lady Gaga, was right there to cheer the Spurs on. Usually she has people following her around, but this time she did everything she could to get a few photos with the defending NBA Champions.
Last season the Spurs were victorious in the NBA Finals over the Miami Heat and were rewarded with the Larry O'Brien Trophy. Above, Gaga poses holding the trophy, saying she "felt like such a lady." You can see just how big the NBA Championship Trophy is above.
Lady Gaga also went on to say that Spurs shooting guard Manu Ginobili was her favorite player.
"Me and Ginobili! My favorite player! He's even taller in person! What a doll!"
Ginobili, one of the best veteran players in today's game, was drafted by the Spurs in 2002. Ginobili has played his entire career with the Spurs winning four NBA Championships. Although he is 37 years old, he still has one of the best strokes in the game.
Tony Parker, the Spurs starting point guard, also got in to the mix.
"And what a treat when Tony Parker came back to see us, he was such a gentlemen," Lady Gaga said. "We were all laughing, and he told us some great stories. A champion from the inside out! Thanks for the great time guys, I wish you a great season!"
Parker was drafted by the Spurs in 2001 and also has won four NBA Championships with the Spurs.
The next preseason game for the Spurs will be played Saturday, Oct. 11, in Istanbul, Turkey. The Spurs don't face an NBA team until Oct. 16, when they play the Phoenix Suns in their third preseason game. Who knows, maybe another famous singer will appear at the Spurs locker room.
