While attending the premiere of "Addicted" in New York City on Wednesday, Nick Cannon opened up about his pending divorce to Mariah Carey, Billboard reports.

The "America's Got Talent" host told Extra that he's taking everything one day at a time, and "just being the best person that I can possibly be at the end of the day," in regards to his breakup with Carey.

Despite the apparent tension between Carey and Cannon following their breakup, Cannon insists that he's keeping things positive and wishes Carey "the best" for her future.

Cannon also responded to the recent reports of Carey's diminishing vocal talent by saying that he's "not worried" about what reports claim.

"We're in contact constantly. You know you might have an off night here and there, but she's one of the greatest performers and entertainers of our time," Cannon added. "She's not worried, we're not worried, we're just going to keep pushing."

Carey has yet to have an interview about her divorce to Cannon. However, the 44-year-old singer did throw subtle jabs at her soon-to-be ex husband during her recent performance in Tokyo.

A report from TMZ claimed that the "Shake it Off" singer sang a cover of Billie Holiday's "Don't Explain" during her Tokyo performance and changed the lyrics from "And I know you cheat/Right or wrong, don't matter" to "I know you cheated motherf*cker."

Following her Tokyo performance, reports from various media outlets including E! News claimed that Carey's lyric change was meant for Cannon, who is now rumored to have cheated on Carey during their marriage.

Though Cannon has revealed that he is still in contact with Carey, it is clear that the "Wild N' Out" creator is moving on.

Earlier this month, Cannon was seen shirtless in Los Angeles sporting a replacement tattoo on his back for his original Mariah tattoo. The tattoo now features Jesus Christ on a large cross with angel wings.

It is still unclear whether Carey has replaced her MC, tattoo which was rumored to stand for Mariah Cannon.
