Apple will be hosting an event on Oct. 16 where the company is expected to showcase their new Macs and iPads. The event will happen in a matter of days, and yet there are already leaks about the features of the new iPad. According to BGR India, the photos that were leaked show the audio control unit, the front panel, the A8X chip and the TouchID sensor of the iPad Air 2.

There is a rumor that the iPad 2 will have an anti-reflective screen and may come in three colors just like the iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 -- space gray, silver and gold. The RAM is said to be 2 GB, and the device will have features for split-screen multi-tasking.

While the new iPhones are powered by an A8 processor, and it was expected that the same processor would be used on the iPad Air 2, the new photos revealed that it will be powered by A8X chip, which is more powerful than the A8 chip. This means that the resolution could be about 30 percent to 40 percent sharper.

If the TouchID sensor will indeed be added to the new iPad Air 2, it will mean that it will have a fingerprint scanner, which will be a first for an Apple tablet. To keep the tablet very thin, the mute/screen-rotation lock button has been removed and only shows the volume rocker.

Leaks about tech gadgets and the like usually remove the surprise element way before the gadget's actual launch. Sometimes it is a good idea because consumers are able to know ahead of time what to expect from a new tech gadget. Because the tech industry relies on many third party manufacturers, it is almost impossible to keep things secret.
