iPhone 6 Cases and Accesories: Spigen, Speck Candyshell, and Apple Leather Cases All Rank Highly
With the new iPhone 6 pre-orders coming in, consumer reviews are rolling out for which cases will best protect the new smartphones from drops, scratches and even the troublesome bending.
Below are several popular models that help keep the newest Apple hardware safe.
According to a more-than 12,000-person poll on Lifehacker.com, 40 percent of the total vote chose the Apple Leather Case despite its somewhat modest protection from scratches and scrapes. However, its "form-fitting, clean look" is a good all-purpose choice for a sleek and professional cover for the iPhone 6.
Other popular choices were the Spigen iPhone 6 Case Neo and Ultra Hybrid models, earning 24 and 15 percent respectively. Lifehacker.com recommends either Spigen cases as a "case that'll offer impact protection without compromising thickness or good looks (or breaking the bank)."
Business Insider were fans of the Speck Candyshell, which snugly fits around the phone but doesn't add much bulk. The hard cases also come in a multitude of colors. The site also reported that Speck claimed the case "exceeds the standard military grade test, which involves being dropped 26 times on a hard surface at various angles and heights."
When Geek.com weighed in, it chose the Otterbox Commuter case as its top pick to cover a new iPhone 6. This product in the Otterbox line, which is known for its thick and durable phone protectors, also has a storage compartment on the back of the phone.
"With room to store three cards and cash, you won't have to worry about bringing your wallet everywhere you go," Geek.com wrote. "That way, you'll only have to keep track of a single item in your pocket whenever you leave your hotel room or vehicle. Reducing how much you need to carry, especially when flying, will make traveling less of a hassle all around."
