Kanye West seems to be the modern generation's very own Narcissus, as he proclaims himself to be the, "No.1 Rockstar on the Planet" in a BBC interview, according to US Weekly.

West, who sat through an hour-long interview with BBC Radio's Zane Lowe, compared himself to legendary icon Michael Jackson and claimed that unlike the King of Pop, he has surpassed the boundaries of rock star greatness. He told Lowe, "I've got to a point that Michael Jackson did not break down. I have reached the glass ceiling, as a creative person, as a celebrity...and I've been at it for 10 years," as reported by E!Online.

West defended his self-loving proclamation by saying that as a rapper, he had continuously pushed artistic boundaries that encompasses art, music, fashion and culture, making him a revolutionary figure. Referencing to the civil rights movement, West might even had the great Martin Luther King in mind to compare himself to, as he said, "I look around and I say, 'Wait a minute. There's no one around here in that looks like me. And if they are, they're quiet as f--k.' So that means, wait a second -- now we're seriously like, in a civil rights movement," according to Us Weekly.

However, despite enumerating the points for his rockstar greatness, West acknowledges that he has yet to realize his potential and to make his dreams come true, saying that, "You don't realize -- I am so frustrated. Like, I've got so much I want to give...And I've got a million people telling me why I can't do it," as reported by E!Online. West even demonstrated a little envy for pal JayZ, as he acknowledged that, "Jay Z is more realized than me. More of his dreams and aspirations have come true," the new dad told Lowe.

As the world knows, this is not the first time that Kanye had proclaimed his greatness in interviews. His new album, "Yeezus," has a track called "I Am a God," and in an interview with "W Magazine," Kim Kardashian's boyfriend said that, "I made that song because I am a god; I don't think there's much more explanation. I'm not going to sit here and defend sh*t. That sh*t is rock 'n' roll, man. That sh*t is rap music. I am a god," according to the The Inquisitr.

This time, West is adamant that Rap is the biggest music genre the world has ever seen, and he is the biggest star in the middle of it. He said, "We culture. Rap is the new rock 'n' roll. We the rock stars...We the new rock stars and I'm the biggest of all of them. I'm the No. 1 rock star on the planet," as reported by Huff Post Entertainment.
