Apple has revealed the iPad Mini 3, which has a Touch ID sensor. However, the processor is an older model.

Likewise, Apple introduced the iPad Air 2 during their event in Cupertino earlier this month. Most tech companies with mobile devices have started releasing their latest models in October to be in time for the holidays. There are more that will be released next month.

According to Mac Rumors, the latest news is that Apple is introducing new Smart Covers and Smart Cases for these two devices. The other good news is that the iPad Air Smart Cover will also work with iPad Air 2 as well as with the iPad Air. It is available for $39 and comes in a polyurethane material in several colors: red, green, blue, yellow, pink, white and black. Currently, it is available to ship within one to three days.

The iPad Mini Smart Cover is sold for the same price and is available in the same colors as the iPad Air Smart Cover. It will work nicely with all of the three 7.9-inch iPad Minis available in the market right now. Shipping time is also the same, according to Apple.

Since the iPad Air 2 is thinner, the company has also updated the Smart Case for this unit. With the availability of a second microphone and a different configuration of the rotation/mute toggle switch, the smart case will only work with the iPad Air 2, which carries a price tag of $79. It comes in soft pink, olive brown, midnight blue, red and black leather. The Smart Case is not yet available.

The Smart Case for the iPad Mini will be selling at $69. The product is already available for shipping in one to three days. It is also in leather and has similar color options to the iPad Air 2 Smart Case.
