'Yo Soy El Artista' Recap & Spoilers: 14 Contestants Are Chosen; Teams Perform Duets
Now that "Yo Soy El Artista" has eliminated many hopefuls, it is back in front of an audience.
The competition kicked off with the top 16 singing together for the very first time. And Felix Gabriel, Jenilca and Sharin immediately found out their fate. Jenilca had 60 percent of the vote, so she would get to stay in the competition.
The actual competition kicked off with duets. Aaron and Cathia sang "Amor Prohibido" by Selena and went up against Stefania and Hassan, who sang "Vivir Lo Nuestro" by Marc Anthony. Judge Boris Izaguirre felt Stefania and Hassan were too stiff during their performance, so he gave them a salsa lesson.
Just like previous episodes, this one featured a mix of Spanish and English songs. While two popular Spanish songs were performed earlier in the competition, there was also "Treasure" by Bruno Mars and "At Last" by Etta James.
Envee, who has been praised for her old-time style, was the perfect choice for "At Last," and she was joined by Nat'Lee.
Ryan and Carlos also sang a duet together, and they were joined by dancers on the stage, so they had a few things to juggle in their performance.
Joanna and Tairon were the last to duet for the night. The two sang "Y Dieron Las Diez" by Joaquin Sabina. Joanna seemed more of a natural during the performance, and Tairon wasn't performing his usual musical genre. But the two managed to have chemistry during their performance.
Ryan and Carlos were saved, and Ryan was so excited that he picked up Lucero.
The host then went on to perform her new song, "No Entendiendo." She wore a charro outfit on stage.
After her performance, it was back to business, and out of all the people that were not picked as the winners, Pedro Pablo, Stefania and Hassan were in the bottom three.
Judge and artist school director Olga Tañon chose to save Stefania. The other two will now wait for the public's vote.
