"Gotham," Fox's hot new series, continued to display the throes of good and evil with this week's episode, "Viper," which aired Monday evening, immediately followed by the sixth episode of "Sleepy Hollow," titled "And the Abyss Gazes Back."

Danger and violence continues to thrive in Bruce Wayne's hometown, but Detective Jim Gordon and his reluctant partner Harvey Bullock continues to fight the good fight. "Viper" began with a street musician ingesting the drug (the product hints at the venom that will fuel Bane) and it transforms him into a violent, milk-hungry and ATM-stealing criminal. For hours, the drug activated euphoria and strength, and then it rapidly decalcified and suffocated the musician and others who used the drugs.

Meanwhile, Cobblepot comes clean to Maroni about his identity and connections to Fish Mooney and Carmine Falcone in an attempted to gain a bigger role within the Maroni foundation. This reveal earns Cobblepot a severe beating that isn't eased until Gordon is "asked" to come to Maroni's restaurant and confirm that the story of Cobblepot's death and revival is real. Now, Maroni has a leg up on Gordon, and could easily unveil the truth in the future.

Audiences are also offered a larger image of the mood within the Falcone organization when he holds a meeting with families that aren't aligned with Maroni, including Mooney. Mooney later shows that she's in bed (pun intended) with a crime boss, Nikolai, who she initially seems opposed to. During the episode, Fish also grooms her new weapon, Liza, to sing, talk and carry herself in way that will bait and catch Falcone.

This week's main villain is a man with a mangled ear who concocts an epigenetic drug, which converts bone calcium into steroid strength. But it eventually results in death. The inventor of Viper is someone who used to work in the shadows of Wayne Enterprises until he resisted the company's decision to design chemical weapons.

It then becomes apparent to Bruce during his private investigation into his parent's company that it was aligned with mob activity. Bruce can't let go of this and after a scare from the villain, even Alfred jumps aboard with the "investigation." The idea that Maroni may have been responsible for having the Waynes killed dissipates, and a likelier suspect could emerge from within the Wayne Enterprises.

On the sixth episode of the series, "Spirit of the Goat," a killer begins to target the first born children of Gotham's elite. The case is identical to one from Bullock's past, and it raises traumatic memories. The episode will possess a "slasher film vibe," and a masked murderer who looks a great deal like a scarecrow but declares himself "The Spirit of the Goat" will wreak havoc on the city.

The "Spirit of the Goat" episode of "Gotham" airs on Monday, Oct. 27, 2014 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
