New Houston Rockets star Dwight Howard recently returned from a three-country, 11-day Asia tour to promote Adidas and the release of his new shoe.

Howard's trip comes just shortly after his new teammate Jeremy Lin did a tour of his own. Howard's website has the full details from his trip thanks to a blog post from performance coach Bryan Meyer. From what it sounds like, this isn't Howard's first tour.

"I  think this is my fifth or sixth summer traveling overseas with Dwight and each year the organization and food has gotten better," Meyer said. "The majority of the tours overseas are with Adidas. This 11-day trip was to showcase Dwight as the face of Adidas Training in Asia alongside his new shoe release.

Meyer also spoke of the demanding work it was for the crew accompanying Howard on the trip. He says it is a "full time job with Dwight" and that "everyone on his team wears a few hats to help Dwight make every trip a success."

""I think this trip of 11 days we had 1 day where we were not able to get to a weight room or court," he said. "You also have to remember that Dwight just can't go to the gym across the street and workout its always an event because of who Dwight has become."

According to Meyer, Howard helped train young basketball players and also worked in fitness clinics. Mostly, however, the blog post just spent the entire time bragging about how "no matter where Dwight goes his presence is lasting and always positive." The bottom line is that the trip was nothing more than a corporate obligation and Meyer's job on the blog post was clearly to promote his client's brand even further. Underneath all of the promotional material, it was otherwise an interesting look into the kinds of trips professional athletes take during the offseason.
