As the 2014 CONCACAF tournament comes to a close, the United States and Mexico will face one another in the semifinals Friday for a chance to play in the 2015 FIFA World Cup.

Mexico and the United States will play each other on Friday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. EST in the women's CONCACAF tournament.

The winner of this game will automatically clinch a spot in the 2015 World Cup, as the top three seeds in the 2014 CONCACAF tournament do.

The fourth place team will get to play Ecuador for a chance to play in soccer's biggest tournament. Latin Post previews the team, game and predicts a winner:

United States

The United States is the No. 1-ranked team in the FIFA world rankings, led by head coach Jillian Ellis. The last time the United States won a World Cup Championship was 1999, when they defeated China. The 2011 finals defeat to Japan still has a bitter feel to it.

The United States won Group A with a perfect 3-0 record. Wins over Trinidad and Tobago, Haiti and Guatemala have this team as the No. 1 seed from group play. Amazingly, the United States has not allowed a single goal so far, while scoring 12 goals.

Abby Wambach (shown above) leads this offensive unit. She scored the only goal in a 1-0 battle against Trinidad and Tobago and two more against Haiti. Goalkeeper Hope Solo has been perfect, not allowing a goal, but her defense has been even better. Team captain Christie Rampone and Kelley O'Hara lead this great defense.

Mexico

Mexico is ranked No. 25 in the FIFA world rankings, and they had a wild ride through Group B. After narrowly losing to Costa Rica 1-0, Mexico won their next two games. Luz Duarte (just 19 years old) has emerged as an offensive threat for Mexico. Paired with Stephany Mayor and Charlyn Corral, Mexico packs powerful offense.

After their one-goal loss to Costa Rica, Mexico dominated Martinque 10-0 with goalkeeper Cecilia Santiago earning the shutout. In their most important game, against Jamaica, Mexico won 3-1 with Corral and Mayor scoring all three goals.

Because Mexico finished with a 2-1 record with a loss to Costa Rica, they're a No. 2 seed. If Mexico can defeat the United States in the semifinals, they will then face the winner of the Costa Rica-Trinidad and Tobago game in the finals. Even if Mexico can't win this game, they can still compete against Ecuador in a fourth-place game for a chance to play in the 2015 FIFA World Cup.

Schedule, Where to Watch

Mexico and the United States will play each other on Friday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. EST at the PPL Park Stadium in Chester, Pennsylvania. The game will be shown on FOX SPORTS 1. Live game stream can be found here.

Prediction

Mexico has a very talented offense, but the United States defense is playing like a brick wall right now. They are not allowing a single goal through three games speaks for itself, and Hope Solo is usually up for the challenge. Expect Abby Wambach to have a great game in this North American matchup.

United States wins 2-0
