Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson denied speculation that he was one of the main reasons why his team decided to trade Percy Harvin last week.

Recent reports indicated that Wilson might have something to do with the Seahawks' surprising decision to trade Harvin for a conditional draft pick in 2015.

When asked about the reports linking him to Harvin's exit, Wilson strongly denied such rumors, reiterating that he had no issues with the wide receiver before.

"Percy and I never had differences," Wilson said via CBS Sports. "He's a guy that, you know, we had a lot of similarities, probably, if anything. You know, guys that want to compete at the highest level, want to win every single time you step on the field. Want the ball in our hands, to make the big play and everything."

The 25-year-old added that he was actually surprised when informed about the reports about his alleged rift with Harvin, but he pointed out that he knows that he just needs to deal with it, while also wishing Harvin well in New York.

"I'm not sure why the media tries to blow everything out of proportion, it's part of it, I guess," Wilson said. "You have to deal with it. But you also ignore it, too. Like I always tell you guys, ignore the noise. You know, Percy's a Virginia guy and I wish nothing but the best for him."

Harvin, who was acquired by the Seahawks during the 2013 season, recently admitted that he was involved in several altercations during his stint in Seattle.

Harvin did not mention anything about Wilson, but he confirmed that he had differences with Doug Baldwin and Golden Tate. He said, though, that he was actually surprised when it was made public.

"We had an incident," Harvin said of his altercation with Tate via ESPN. "I don't really want to get into the details. The way I go about my business is keeping everything in-house. For whatever reason, they decided to unleash things."
