Univision 'Va Por Ti' Recap: Banda El Recodo Honors Dead Member Aldo Sarabia Garcia, Multiple Contestants Sent Home
Shaila Durcal and Banda El Recodo were special guests on "Va Por Ti" recently.
El Recodo recently suffered a personal tragedy when one of its members was found dead. The group dedicated its performance to Aldo Sarabia Garcia, and Poncho Lizarraga ended up at the judges table as one of the guest judges.
Then Ricardo and Stephanie had to fight for their chance to stay on the show. The two performed, and it was Stephanie who was saved.
And proving that the show is unpredictable, even more contestants were at risk of going home on the same night. Each contestant had to vote for who he or she believed was the weakest from his or her team.
Frank and Fernando tied for Team Jencarlos Canela. The two went head-to-head, and Frank was eliminated.
Joyce received the most votes on Team Dulce, and then the team captain had to send in another contestant to go up against Joyce. Geissie ended up competing against Joyce, and Joyce was sent home.
Corona's performance was almost overshadowed by the three times he and judge Alejandra Guzman kissed. When it came time for him to perform, he sang right to Guzman.
Paloma went head to head with Yazaira. For Paloma's turn, she sang a song to her crush and team captain, Canela. Canela felt compelled to go up to the stage after she was done performing, and he kissed her.
Paloma ended up beating Yazaira, who ended up being at risk for elimination.
Later, Lizarraga surprised the contestants by showing off what the "Va Por Ti" trophy looks like.
Artist Durcal picked Ana Cristina to sing by her side. Cristina was having a good night, as she sang a song that was not in her musical genre and still managed to impress the judges.
Yazaira, Geissie, Fernando and Stephanie were the unlucky four who had to sing one more time in hopes of not ending up in the bottom three. The judges unanimously decided to save Yazaira.
