Nicki Minaj has pushed back the release date for her highly anticipated third studio album "The Pinkprint," which was originally slated to drop on Nov. 24.

The latest news came from the YMCMB record label's press release on Tuesday, while promoting Minaj's new single "Only" featuring Lil Wayne, Drake and Chris Brown.

The Trinidadian emcee also took to her Twitter account on Wednesday to announce her album's delay. "Dec 15th - The Pinkprint," she wrote with the praying hands emoji.

While sitting down with XXL, CEO of Cash Money Birdman explained why the "Anaconda" rapper decided to reschedule her album release, claiming that she actually followed Lil Wayne, who recently pushed back the release date of his eleventh and last solo effort "Tha Carter V."

"[Lil Wayne]'s so much an artist like that. He changes his mind a lot," he said. "He feel like he want to do more. Really they be on they call. It ain't on me. So whatever Wayne wants to do, Nicki wants to do. I leave that up to them. I don't decide on dates and everything. I don't do none of that."

Perhaps Minaj pushed back the album release date since there are other rap release on Nov. 24 - Eminem's "Shady XV," Rick Ross' "Hood Billionaire" and Pitbull's "Globalization."

Nicki Minaj previously discussed working on "The Pinkprint," which is set to feature already released tracks "Anaconda," "Pills n Potions," "Lookin A**" and "Only." I'm really excited, and the people that have been working with now have been people that I haven't worked with before, so it's like they're bringing a new sound to the album that I've never experimented with," she told MTV.

"Plus I've got so much to talk about. In the features, I don't really delve into no deep s**t. And with the album, thank God, I've experienced so much in the last year-and-a-half that there's so much for me to talk about," she added. "I know my fans are gonna be excited about it."
