During a recent interview with You Magazine via the Telegraph, Julia Roberts explained that she is an unusual case in Hollywood because she refuses to get a face lift or undergo any plastic surgery to abide by Hollywood's standards of beauty.

"By Hollywood standards, I guess I've already taken a big risk in not having had a facelift," she explained.

Roberts--who recently turned 47--also revealed that her contract as the face of Lancome allows her to be an aging model.

"[The people at Lancome] have to keep me for at least five more years until I'm over 50," she said.

Though she has not had any plastic surgery, Roberts did confess to other ways she keeps up her appearance.

By "studying yoga on a more conscious level" Roberts explained that she is able dust her mind and let go of the things that weigh her down "mentally and emotionally."

"There's a lightness to my life now - an airy quality of not taking things too seriously. That's happiness," she added.

In addition to yoga, Roberts' other focus is on being a mother.

"You just have to make sure [the kids] look and smell clean. That's all that matters. If I actually manage to get my teeth brushed and lip balm on, I'm good," she said.

Roberts also revealed that mothers who aren't Hollywood stars like herself are her "real-life heroes."

"Those mothers are my real-life heroes, and they include my girlfriends, who do this with joy and grace and with full-time jobs. I don't have to worry about it and I'm grateful for that," she admitted.

According to the Independent, Roberts' comments on plastic surgery in Hollywood follow the recent backlash actress Renee Zellweger faced for allegedly getting plastic surgery to alter her facial features.
