Nokia Lumia 830 Release Date News: AT&T Smartphone Coming to US
A smartphone never before available in the U.S., the Nokia Lumia 380, will be arriving stateside by the end of this week. However, the mobile phone will only be available though one carrier, AT&T.
In a press release, Senior Product Marketing Manager Rick Goetter explained that the Nokia Lumia 830 will become available both online and in retail stores on Nov. 7 exclusively through AT&T.
"You can purchase a Lumia 830 for $0 down on an AT&T Next plan including $18.75 a month with Next 18 and $22.50 a month with Next 12. You can also purchase the Lumia 830 for $99.99 with a two year commitment3 or $449.99 with no annual commitment," the statement reads.
"For a limited time, while supplies last, when you purchase a Nokia Lumia 830 you will get a free Fitbit Flex, a $99.99 value," the statement adds. "The Fitbit Flex is an activity and sleep-tracking wristband that tracks steps taken, distance traveled, calories burned, active minutes and sleep, helping you to achieve your fitness goals. You can wirelessly sync and view your data with the top downloaded Fitbit app, available for free from the Windows Phone Store."
According to 3g.co.uk, the Lumia 830 is lighter and smaller than the Lumia 930 without sacrificing any screen space, giving the phone a more refined look at a cheaper cost. Where the Lumia 830 loses to her bigger sister is in the power area. The 830 has a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB of RAM, which is surpassed by the 930's 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM.
The AT&T press release adds that the Lumia 830 has 16 GB of onboard storage, which can be expanded to 128 GB with a MicroSD card slot. The phone, as a Windows device, comes with Microsoft Office apps to facilitate work with Word, Excel or Powerpoint.
