A man who murdered a Washington mother, uploaded photos of her body to the Internet and then fled the area has been arrested in Oregon. The man turned himself in to police after a daylong manhunt, following the discovery of his live-in girlfriend's body.

At around 8:50 p.m. Wednesday night, 33-year-old David Michael Kalac surrendered to Portland police, according to NBC News. Police had been searching for him after discovering the body of 30-year-old Amber Lynn Coplin, Kalac's girlfriend, in her own home.

Coplin was found strangled in her Port Orchard, Washington home on Tuesday by her 13-year-old son. The word "dead" was written on the victim's driver's license, which was found with her body. The suspect allegedly also wrote, "she killed me first," on the crime scene's walls.

According to the BBC, police said Kalac was detained "without incident and co-operative." The police labeled Kalac as their "primary suspect."

Around half an hour before Coplin's body was discovered, an anonymous user on the Internet forum 4chan posted a gruesome photo of a dead naked woman with marks around her neck, according to Huffington Post. The photo was accompanied by the chilling caption.

"Turns out it's way harder to strangle someone to death than it looks on the movies," it said. "She fought so damn hard."

When other 4chan users questioned the photo's authenticity, the anonymous poster replied.

"Check the news for Port Orchard Washington in a few hours," the post said. "Her son will be home from school soon. He'll find her, then call the cops. I just wanted to share the pics before they find me. I bought a BB gun that looks realistic enough. When they come, I'll pull it and it will be suicide by cop. I understand the doubts. Just check the f-- news. I have to lose my phone now."

Kalac fled with Coplin's 2001 Ford Focus, and the police asked the community to help them locate the car. However, according to KOMO News, Portland police spotted the car early on Wednesday. After a failed attempt to pull the car over, a chase ensued, but police lost the car after it went into oncoming traffic.

Police are continuing to investigate the motives. They have not released any further information on Kalac.
