Mega Millions Winning Lottery Numbers and Results: $321M Jackpot Ticket Sold in Hudson Valley, New York
One lucky lottery player is walking the streets of Middletown, New York with the winning ticket that matched the Mega Millions numbers drawn on Nov. 4, reports Inquisitr.
The winning ticket was sold at a Valero discount gas station located in Middletown, New York, which is located about one hour and 20 minutes outside of Manhattan in the Hudson Valley.
The $321 million jackpot is the eighth largest in Mega Millions history, according to the Star-Ledger.
Inquisitr reports that the winning numbers were 09-15-24-39-41. The Mega Ball was 1. The Megaplier was 4.
The holder of the winning ticket lays claim to a $321 million jackpot and can choose two ways to receive the funds:
1. The player would receive a lump sum payment of about $194 million before taxes.
2. If the winner chooses payments, he or she would receive 30 payments of $10,700,000 before taxes.
This reportedly isn't the only Empire state winning lottery ticket. Another ticket sold in New York bears the first five drawn numbers. Although it is missing the Mega Ball and typically would be worth a $1 million prize, the player bought the ticket with the Megaplier option, and since it has a Megaplier number of 4, that ticket holder wins $4 million.
The Star-Ledger reports that the second straight drawing resulted in three winning tickets that matched the five numbers but not the Mega Ball. Each ticket is worth $1 million. The tickets were sold in New Jersey, Texas and California.
The last time someone won the Mega Millions jackpot was in August when a ticket worth $180 million was sold at a 7-Eleven in Calimesa, California.
Mega Millions began on Aug. 31, 1996 as the Big Game. The first drawing happened on Sept. 6, 1996. The game awarded the biggest jackpot in North American history of $656 million to three winners in March 2012.
