The 2014 Premios de la Radio show was an emotional night. In between giving out awards to honor the industry's biggest stars, it also took time to pay tribute to those who left too soon.

The late Tito Torbellino, who was murdered earlier this year, was one of the musician's whose life was celebrated at the award show. Highlights of his career were shown.

Torbellino's mother was also brought up on stage. The crowd chanted her son's name as tears came to her eyes. It took her a minute to compose herself, but she eventually addressed the audience and thanked them for their support.

"He's alive in our hearts!" she said, concluding her short speech.

Jenni Rivera was also honored.

Jenni's daughter Jacqui Marin, who is the younger sister of Chiquis Rivera, sang to her mother. Her family was there to support her, and they were also on hand when Jenni was named the female artist of the year.

Jenni's mom, Rosa Rivera, said the award was dedicated to Jenni's children.

Chiquis also attended the awards show, and on top of stunning audiences with her outfits, she also performed her new song, "La Malquerida." It was Chiquis' first time performing at Premios La Radio, but she had already made her debut as a performer earlier in the summer.

In addition, an entire portion of the show was dedicated to immigrants, both those who are undocumented and those whose ancestors had made the journey. Viewers were encouraged to use the hashtag Soy Imigrante (I Am An Immigrant) to help spread awareness and support the influx of undocumented, unaccompanied minors who made their way to the United States this year.

Everyday people shared their stories about immigration on the award show, and there were also performances.

Soy Immigrante ended up trending on Twitter, as did two other terms related to Premios de la Radio.
