Last week, Heidi Montag, a star on MTV's former reality series "The Hills," reached out to Amanda Bynes on Twitter and offered the troubled starlet a place to stay in her Santa Barbara home.

Prior to Montag's Twitter offer, Bynes posted several tweets regarding her opposition towards her parents' conservatorship over her and her finances.

Although Bynes has yet to respond to the generous offer, Montag continued her campaign to possibly house Bynes during a recent interview with Extra. In the interview, Montag acknowledged that she does not know Bynes personally but is a fan of her work.

"I haven't ever met Amanda, but I think she's a very talented actress," Montag said. "I grew up watching her works. I think that she's one of the most talented actresses in Hollywood, and she has a great path ahead of her."

Montag then went on to explain that she and her husband, Spencer Pratt, discussed the options for Bynes' recovery and agreed to extend their home to the "What I Like About You" star during her time of need.

Montag described her Santa Barbara home as being "out of L.A." and "nice and relaxing."

"If she doesn't have somewhere to go, she definitely can stay for free at our house so she doesn't have to be sleeping on a couch," she said. "She hasn't contacted me, but I'm hoping that she will."

Whether Bynes will contact Montag still remains to be seen. However, Gawker recently published a story about Montag's offer and suggested that the reality star's invitation might be an attempt to exploit Bynes for her own publicity and fame. Gawker's Kelly Canoboy described Montag as a "lecherous fame-hound" who reached out to Bynes "in a thinly-veiled attempt to enter their name into a dark conversation that has nothing to do with them or anyone else."

Montag has yet to respond to Gawker's commentary.

Instead, Montag recently stopped by Access Hollywood to promote her plans to write a book based off her life as a reality-TV star.

"It's going to be a fiction book," Montag revealed. ".. .based on a girl from a small town who fell into the limelight of reality TV and the chaos of it."
