A revamped version of the popular app game "Words With Friends" has been released. The new version fixes some bugs that made game play in previous versions frustrating. However, the "New Words with Friends" may also help its developer Zynga in the long run.

Available in Apple's App Store, "New Words With Friends" will have new features like Community Match, which matches players with similar skills together, and Solo Play. According to the App Store page, the game will also feature the ability to:

  •  connect with players of similar skill with Smart Match
  • expand your vocabulary with Dictionary and Word of the Day
  • track your performance and improvement with detailed stats
  •  chat with your friends in-game
  •  access your games across all your devices
  • download to access new features, fully backwards compatible with your current game.

However, "New Words With Friends" may also help its developer, Zynga. According to Market Watch, the release of the new "Words With Friends" has ushered in a new wave of interest in Zynga and its stock. The game has gained so much interest that on Tuesday Jefferies lifted Zynga's status from buy to hold. The company also so a slight increase in its shares. They rose 5 percent.

"'Words' is currently the #3 most downloaded app, a key leading indicator for go-forward rev potential," said analyst Brian Pitz. "The game should benefit from strong seasonal trends around holiday ad prices, and strong demand for video ads."

The game earns income for Zynga through ads since the game is free. According to the Associated Press, "New Words With Friends" currently ranks in sixth place among the Top Free iPhone Apps. It also holds the same place in the Top Free iPad Apps.
