In an attempt to hype up the game even further before its April 2015 release, NetherRealm Studios showed off over 30 minutes of "Mortal Kombat X" during a live stream.

In the video, "Mortal Kombat X" was demonstrated. The demo was focused on the characters that will be included in the game. The demo was not intended to show every nook and cranny of the new game, but to give gamers a good idea what it would look like if it were to be released today.

In the live stream there were no new characters announced but the character variarions were shown. These variations are dependent on the fighter you choose. Each fighter will have three different variations that give them special skills.

Kotal Kahn's three variations were shown in the live stream. His three modes are Blood God, War God and Sun God. His Blood God mode displays his offensive and defensive skills. Put him as a War God and a big sword is given to him. Finally, the Sun God variation gives him more grappling skills and the ability to take health away from his opponents.

Besides the variations, the 30 minute demo showed off the gruesome fatalaties that the game has. Don't worry, these fatalaties are going to be super detailed and quite graphic. Hopefully, the FCC does not censor them too much.

By graphic, "Mortal Kombat" does quite well. It shows heads being cut off, organs being removed from bodies and much more.

As of right now, the characters we know are coming back for "Mortal Kombat X" are:

  • Sub-Zero
  • Scorpion
  • Raiden
  • Kano
  • Quan Chi
