'Minecraft' for PS4 & Xbox One Gameplay Update: PETA Releases its Own Server and New 'Skyrim' Mash Up
“Minecraft” will be seeing a lot of interesting updates and additions in the coming days and weeks. PETA and “Skyrim” will be joining the “Minecraft” universe, though not together.
PETA announced in a blog post that it would be releasing its own “Minecraft” server on Saturday Nov. 15, which would not follow the “Minecraft” logic of killing animals on the game for survival. In the game, killing animals like pigs, chickens and cows can provide food sources, required to survive in the game. PETA has another idea.
“True to PETA’s mission—and unlike on other Minecraft servers—no animals, not even digital ones, can be harmed on our dedicated Minecraft server!” explained Joel Bartlett, PETA’s director of marketing. “Visitors to PETA’s custom-made digital island will explore vast expanses of landscapes where the animals of Minecraft roam free. They can also visit extensive vegetable and flower gardens, walk through a fantastic re-creation of PETA’s HQ, and discover an abandoned and decaying slaughterhouse.”
PETA adds that those interested should follow the blog for more details concerning the new server’s release. Watch the teaser of PETA’s “Minecraft” server:
According to IGN, “Minecraft” will also be pairing with “Skyrim” for a mash-up, similar to the last year’s, which was for Xbox 360. This new one will be for Playstation. However, 4J Studios confirmed on Twitter that the game will not be ready this month.
Mojang said the project is in the works but they do not have a release date yet.
“It is going to be cool really awesome and we think it is really cool to continue the co-operation with Bethesda,” Mojang told IGN. “Don't have a release date but we're working on it as fast as we possibly can. It will be soonish!”
