Here's our breakdown of everything you need to know about the iPad 4.

Pros and Cons:
The iPad 4 is slim, sleek, portable and elegant and it has a vivid, high-resolution display. It supports
an external keyboard, but also has an onscreen keyboard. Despite Apple having launched new, more
powerful tablets, the iPad 4 is quite powerful with a high-power battery to match it.

There are still some drawbacks to the iPad 4. Its lightning connector isn't backward compatible.
Like most Apple devices, the battery cannot be removed. Most of the other drawbacks are typical
to most Apple devices. For example, there is no storage expansion slot, and furthermore, it is relatively
expensive in its category.

Specs:
The iPad 4 has a 9.7-inch, 1536x2048-pixel, 264ppi LED-backlit
IPS LCD display. It is available in four storage configurations - 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and
128GB. It runs on a 1.4-GHz dual-core Apple Swift CPU, supported by quad-core GPU and 1GB
RAM. The tablet is currently available with iOS 8.1.1 although the first models were released
with iOS 6.0.

The iPad 4 has a 5-megapixel primary and 1.2-megapixel secondary camera lens. It is 9.4mm
thick and weighs 662g. Its 11,560 mAh Li-Po battery has a talktime of up to 9 hours. Other
features include iCloud, Apple A6X chipset, and the availability of two models - Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + Cellular. Just like all the other previous iPads, it has one switch and 4 buttons.

Talking Points:
The iPad 4 was launched in November 2012, and the tablet received positive reviews for its Retina
display and other features. The first weekend sales for iPad 4 and iPad Minis crossed 3 million
units. This was however lower compared to the 3-million total units sold for the iPad 3 (only) in
its first week of release. Despite that fact, Apple's stocks rose by 1.4% on the third day after the
release.

The 128GB version was not released initially. It was unveiled in January 2013 and released in
February 2013. Apple temporarily discontinued the iPad 4 after the release of the iPad Air in
October 2013, but it was again made available in March 2014 when the iPad 2 was discontinued.
The Cupertino, CA based company recently decided to discontinue it after the release of the iPad.

Prices:
The 64GB version of the iPad 4 is available at a price starting $700.

Conclusion:
Anyone who is looking for a class tablet and has the money to spend on it will find the iPad 4
to be a decent option. But with new tabs like the iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 3 available in the
market, the prospects of the iPad 4 may have faded.
