The Honda Accord has long been one of America's favorite family sedans. It's a no frills car with plenty of room for a family or just for an individual and his or her possessions.

I had the opportunity to drive both the brand new 2015 Honda Accord EX and 2014's Accord Sport.

Let's dig right into the comparison.

Interior: The Accord EX uses that boring cloth that even the most basic cars use. This is the EX model, which means it should use a better cloth or even leather (you have to upgrade to the EX-L for that). The Sport's interior is far more comfortable and uses sport cloth that is much more forgiving on your back and legs.

The instrument panels are beautiful in both the EX model and the Sport model. Both have back-up cameras standard. The EX offers extra cameras on the right side of the vehicle for when making lane changes and right turns. This is a great safety feature that reduces most blind spots. The nice displays on both models shows you fuel economy, distance to empty, the song that is being played and much more.

Ride Quality: Very similar rides can be offered by these two cars. The Sport's steering wheel responds very well to any maneuver you wish to make. Both cars offer great suspensions that make the ride very quiet and comfortable. The leather wrapped steering wheel in the Sport beats the boring urethane in the EX.

The suspension in the Sport makes the car a Sport model. It offers auto-stick transmission that includes shifter flaps on the steering wheel. The Sport's computer will automatically shift in your behalf if you shift too late or too early. The EX is the standard CVT transmission that the Accord has used since 2013.

Exterior: The Sport will get you the looks when driving around town. That's because it has a rear lip spoiler, 18-inch wheels and dual exhaust. The EX is your basic sedan with no frills.

Entertainment: The EX has six speakers in it while the Sport only has four. Both provide Pandora and Bluetooth connectivity. You are able to control your phone's features completely through the car.

Safety: Both cars score very good to excellent ratings in crash tests.

Gas Mileage: Expect the same gas mileage in both models due to the same engine sizes. If you use the auto-stick function too much in the Sport model you might notice slightly lower MPGs.

Both models offer the Econ button, which is a green button on the left side of the wheel that you can engage to get better gas mileage. It works by turning off gas wasting features of the car during certain parts of a drive.

In conclusion, the Sport model is the better option. You get the bigger wheels, the more comfortable cloth and a more fun drive.
