NBC took the #1 spot in the television premiere week for the 18-49 demographic for the second year in a row.

The first week of the new television season ended Sunday, Sept. 29. NBC was the number one station with a 3.1 average rating. This is a 7 percent increase from last year, when its rating was 2.9. This week also marks NBC's best premiere week rating in five years. The network's viewer count also went up 19 percent.

Second place in the 18-49 demographic went to ABC who maintained an average of a 2.3 rating.

NBC beat ABC in the ratings by a +35 percent margin victory. This is biggest margin of victory by a network during premiere week in 16 years. The last time a victory margin was this large was in 1997 when NBC took the number 1 spot with by +43 percent margin.

Third place was a tie between CBS and FOX. Both networks averaged a 2.2 rating in the 18-49 category.

Univision ranked fifth wish a 1.3 rating. Meanwhile, The CW was at the bottom of the list, sixth place, with a 0.3 rating for adults 18-49.

In terms of total viewers, CBS had the most with 10.380 million viewers. NBC was second place with 9.710 million viewers. Next was ABC with 7.990 million viewers. Fourth place in the viewer count was FOX with a 6.010 million large audience. Univision has 3.300 million viewers during premiere week. The CW had 0.780 million viewers, making it sixth place.

Each 18-49 demographic rating point is a percentage of the adults aged 18-49 watching television and totals 1.265 million adults 18-49.

NBC also ranked second in the 2012-2013 broadcast year for the 18-49 demographic. This is the first time NBC completed a broadcast year ahead of ABC or FOX without the help of the Olympics or Super Bowl since the 2002-2003 year.
