Taylor Lianne Chandler, 41, who claims to be Michael Phelps girlfriend, wrote a Facebook post detailing how she was born intersex, a fact she has never revealed to anyone in her life, reports the Washington Post.

According to Chandler, she was born David Roy Fitch with male genitalia without testicles and a uterus without ovaries. Later in life, she started taking testosterone blockers. As a teen, she changed her name to Paige Victoria Whitney. In her 20s, she had surgery to remove the male reproductive organs.

"By the time I could walk and talk, I made it clear I was a girl and dressed as one. In my early teens I was medically diagnosed and went on testosterone blockers, at 15 estrogen enhancers. My birth certificate was modified along with my name while I was a teenager, prior to any corrective surgery," she wrote in a Nov. 13 Facebook post. "The problem is I have made friends that I never told and dated and married people that knew nothing of my past/ If you don't understand what intersex is, Google it. I was never a man, never lived as a man. No one can say they knew me as a man or produce a photo of me as a man."

Chandler claims on her Facebook profile that she met Phelps, 29, on Tinder and describes their relationship "like a teenage love affair." She said they attended a Baltimore Ravens game together for their first date.

On Wednesday, Chandler wrote on Facebook, "Heard from Michael he is out of rehab and back home."

Phelps has not commented on whether or not he dated Chandler, or on her reveal.

Phelps had been in rehab during the month of October following his September DUI arrest. His DUI trial in Baltimore is scheduled for Dec. 19. He is also serving a six-month suspension by U.S. Swimming.
