Cyber Monday 2014 Deals: Shop Online Safely for Wireless Speakers via Amazon, Twitter and More
The holiday shopping season is in full swing, and many Cyber Monday deals on gadgets are slashing prices on all sorts of hot-ticket technology. Many Christmas lists feature wireless speakers, so retailers are marking down prices.
Amazon, as part of their eight-day-long cyber deal that began on Black Friday, is offering significant discounts on multiple brands of wireless speakers. A store credit of up to $50 will be given to consumers who buy Sonos wireless speakers to be used on other Amazon purchases. Plus, both the Philips DOT wireless Bluetooth speakers and the iHome Bluetooth Executive Music Station are each marked down 25 percent, respectively.
Tanga, an online deal-finding retailer, has offers on less expensive, off-brand wireless speakers for both indoor and outdoor use. Brands like Urge that offer both large and smaller models of wireless speakers are more than 50 percent off, with the cheapest product starting as low as $21.99. Other offerings from Liger brand include shower-friendly waterproof wireless music speakers.
Besides the online deals, there are several useful tips on how to successfully and safely shop online on Cyber Monday.
First, check retailers' pricing offers early and often. Big stores will often put up sales early in the morning and may add more deals throughout the day. Using #CyberMonday on Twitter is also a great way to track which brands are discounting certain items.
"I'm a big fan of Twitter for keeping up to date with the latest promotions," Charlie Cohn, senior director content strategy at CouponPal, said according to USA Today. "If you're tech-savvy, you can create your own live-streaming list of the best deals as they become available."
If shoppers are concerned about getting scammed on too-good-to-be-true deals, McAfee online security expert Robert Siciliano said to stick with big-names like Best Buy, Amazon and recognizable names. Also, he added that once the items are in the digital shopping cart to be sure any credit information is safe.
"Make sure your browser is up to date with the latest version because that will be the most secure," he said. "Whenever you're using your credit card online, in the [website] address bar, you want it to say 'https'; that means it's a secure page."
With these deals and tips, everyone can afford to rock out this Christmas with a new set of speakers!
