Electronics in some form seem to be on everybody's holiday shopping list this year, and many Cyber Monday sales are offering a bit of everything to consumers, especially on smartphones and tablets.

For those looking to pick up a tablet for themselves or someone else on their gift list, many electronics and general retailers are slashing prices for the handheld devices.

Best Buy is discounting Apple's iPad Air and Mini. Typically, Apple products don't have significant savings during the holiday season, and this year seems to follow the pattern by giving just $30 off the iPad Air and $50 off the iPad Mini. However, it still is considerably lower than paying full prices.

If the pricey Apple tablets aren't desirable, Best Buy also has great deals on Samsung, Amazon and Surface Pro products. Select tablets from Samsung are just $150, and the Surface Pro 3 and Surface Pro 2 are marked down $100 and $150, respectively.

Lastly, the retailer is marking down the 7-inch Amazon Fire HD tablet to $30 below retail price. However, buying directly from Amazon also allows for the option to choose between five model colors or getting the slightly smaller 6-inch version.

A new smartphone is always a great gift idea for the holidays.

Again, Best Buy has several options on sale. The newest and buzzed-about Apple products iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are too new for many deals, but Samsung devices like the LG G3 are outrageously low, costing just $1 after purchasing a two-year contract. The same offer also applies to the Samsung Galaxy S4 4G. Besides virtually no cost for the phone, Best Buy is also throwing in a $50 gift card to anyone who activates one of its phones with Sprint.

Over at Amazon, the e-commerce giant is offering its Fire phone unlocked for $199, originally $649, on Cyber Monday. The unlocked device means it can be activated through carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Metro PCS and Cricket. Bundled with the phone is a one-year membership to Amazon Prime, which allows for free two-day shipping on all Amazon orders and access to thousands of streaming TV and movie titles.
