Manchester United has won their fourth match in a row since losing the Manchester Derby, defeating Stoke City 2-1 Tuesday afternoon.

Marouane Fellaini broke the game open in the 21st minute after heading Ander Herrera's cross pass right past Stoke City keeper Asmir Begovic in the 21st minute of the match.

Stoke City midfielder Steven N'Zonzi tied the game up after Fellaini turned over the ball, which helped set up Stoke City's quick break and N'Zonzi blasting a shot past Manchester United keeper David De Gea.

But Spaniard Juan Mata would hit the winner, nailing a beautiful free kick in the 59th minute that untied the match and gave the Red Devils the victory in front of the loud and lively Old Trafford home crowd.

The win against Stoke City gives the Red Devils their fourth win in a row since losing to rival Manchester City as they prepare to face place Southamption next Monday.

"We've won four matches in a row, which is a very good achievement in the Premier League," said Manchester United head coach Louis van Gaal to MUTV. "I want to see what happens against Southampton, when we win a second consecutive away."

Liverpool won their second match in a row, defeating Leicester City 3-1 as they try to turn things around after the rough start to their season. Liverpool keeper Simon Mignolet put the club in a bad spot after Leicester forward Leonardo Ulloa's shot bounced off the right post and off of Mignolet's back to put the Reds down on a goal in the 22nd minute.

But Adam Lallana would equalize the match four minutes later with an opportunistic goal after getting his shot past Leicester's Kasper Schmeichel on a set play. Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard, who is currently in the middle of renegotiating his contract with the only team he has ever played for, blasted a shot past Schmeichel to give Liverpool the lead in the 54 minute of the game. Jordan Henderson would put the game out of reach after Schmeichel mishandled a goal on a break in the 83rd minute. Raheem Sterling set up Henderon's goal with a heel kick pass that caught Leicester's keeper off-guard, giving Liverpool the lead.

"I'm pleased with the goal but more pleased with the win," said Gerrard after the match. "I think it's well document this season we haven't been good enough but we are on our way up. We're defending better, we're sticking together and we're a lot harder to beat the last couple of weeks. We need to keep moving in that direction."
