In the latest episode of FX's "American Horror Story: Freak Show," "Blood Bath," certainly lived up to its name as multiple main characters were killed off of the creepy cast.

The eighth episode opened with Gloria, played by recurring actress Frances Conroy, speaking with a psychiatrist about her disturbed son Dandy. The doctor's face is hidden from view, likely to keep suspense because this will become a more critical character later on in the season. Gloria shared memories of Dandy's childhood and past accomplishments.

The mysterious psychiatrist asks her if Dandy is capable of doing the gruesome things she suspects, and Gloria's answer is vague as she can't prove that her son has recently killed their maid.

In a separate therapy session, Dandy is seen talking with the mental health official, describing alarming acts like murder, deaths and bloodshed, further confirming that he is really disturbed.

Meanwhile, at the circus, ringmaster Elsa Mars, played by series leader Jessica Lange, continues to look for Ma Petite, their tiny woman.

Jimmy, played by Evan Peters, tells Elsa that he found Ma Petite's clothes and believes that she was eaten by an animal.

Mars is devastated by this news, however Ethel Darling, played by Kathy Bates, grows suspicious that it was Ms. Mars herself that killed Ma Petite, as she heard a similar plot to kill the twins earlier. Ethel confronts her best friend, accusing her of killing the innocent Ma Petite.

Elsa is taken back by Ethel's accusation, as she truly doesn't know what happened to the tiny girl, but is unable to convince her friend.

After Ethel shoots Elsa in the leg to pressure her to talk, Elsa reveals they are prosthetics and explains her past horrors of having them cut off by the Axeman.

However, Ethel is still determined to kill her. As she tries to strike, Elsa throws a knife at the bearded lady, hitting her dead in the eye.

Stanley, played by Denis O'Hare, helps Elsa conceal the murder as a crash and subsequent suicide.

As the carnival crew holds a funeral for Ethel, the episode turns back to Gloria and Dandy's home. The maid's daughter, played by Gabourey Sibide, is introduced demanding to know where her mother was. Gloria makes up an excuse for her absence and after subsiding Sibide's concerns, is now sure of her son's guilt. When she tries to grab her gun, it is already in Dandy's hand as he is about to pull the trigger on himself.

Gloria tries to stop her son, and instead Dandy kills her and bathes in her blood in the tub.
