Chespirito Death Update 2014: La Chilindrina Actress Maria Antonieta de las Nieves Claims Dead Comedian's Wife Florinda Meza 'Hurt' His First Marriage
Maria Antonieta de las Nieves, who played La Chilindrina in "El Chavo del Ocho," is speaking out against Chespirito's second wife, Florinda Meza.
The La Chilindrina actress alleges that Meza got in the way of Chespirito's marriage to actress Graciela Fernandez and that she also had a romantic relationship with Carlos Villagran, better known as Kiko, according to El Universal.
"It hurt me that they hurt Chespirito's first wife," de las Nieves said of Fernandez. "She didn't deserve that. She was a marvelous woman, full of integrity, very Catholic, in love with her husband and her children. There were very few women like her."
She added that Meza was very dedicated to Chespirito, making him food and ensuring sure he was taken care of. Still, de Las Nieves believes that Meza "cut his freedom."
The actress also explained that she never saw Chespirito and Kiko fight over Meza but she it's because Kiko had more than one girlfriend at a time.
"Even though he was also married, I knew that he had three or four more girlfriends," she said. "She [Meza] was also with Enrique Segoviano, who was the producer of the show, but he wasn't married. So with him she could have continued being, and even could have married."
The actress said that she and Chespirito were never able to reconcile. The last time de las Nieves saw him was when two were in Miami, and she realized then that both had been manipulated.
"It was a little bit of the press doing, maybe a little bit my family, maybe a little bit his family," she said. "I think someone who was close to him never gave him my messages or they did tell him and he didn't want to hear them. ... They told me he wasn't there when I called, and they never put him on. And this is that I called him like four times. It wasn't just once."
Meza has not publicly spoken about the accusations, but many believe that one of her latest tweets is directed at La Chilindrina.
"My pain, my problems, my faults are mine, and nobody else," she said,
