Amazon TV: Amazon Prime, Netflix Now Offering 4K Videos for TV
Looking to justify that $2,000 4K TV you bought on Black Friday? Have no fear, with Amazon Prime you will have access to some super sharp TV shows and movies. Thanks to technology and Amazon's insistence to spend money, 4K programming is now a reality.
Netflix offers a similar plan but charges $3 more per month for it. With Amazon Prime's Instant Video service, you'll be able to access the programming for free.
You will be able to watch TV shows like Alpha House and Transparent. For movies: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Captain Phillips and This is the End.
If those shows don't wow you, you could always catch a Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga concert in 4K. Remember though, you have to have a 4K television to enjoy 4K programming.
4K TV's are four times sharper than regular HD TV's. Definitely worth the investment.
Amazon is even starting to offer its own programs such as: Mozart in the Jungle, Bosch, Hand of God, The After, and Red Oaks.
"We want to deliver the best entertainment experience, and offering Ultra HD movies and TV shows raises the bar on quality and innovation that customers have come to expect from Amazon," Amazon Digital Video Vice President Michael Paull said in a statement.
Here are some affordable 4K TV's you can buy from Amazon:
55-inch Samsung ($1,199)
LG 40-inch ($898.91, retails normally for $1,199)
LG 65-inch ($2,299, retails normally for $3,799)
Seiki 39-inch (2013 model, $499) This is a four out of five star TV that originally $699.
Sony 49-inch ($1,298.00, retails normally for $1,998)
