Fifty Shades of Grey actor Charlie Hunnam has been showered in unmentionables as fans beg him to keep the role of Christian Grey, and author Jackie Collins is publicly voicing her distaste for the erotic book trilogy.

Rumors are not new to the Fifty Shades of Grey movie world. Since the movie adaptation was announced, casting rumors have run wild. The latest rumor was that Hunnam, who was selected as the lead male, a kinky businessman named Christian Grey, is withdrawing from the movie.

Fans would not have it and did their best to keep Hunnam on board by throwing their underwear at his home.

"We've seen frilly knickers, bras and even stockings left at his door by some fans of the book as they try to get his attention," one of Hunnam's neighbor's told The Daily Star.

According to the British newspaper, fans left piles of lingerie on Hunnam's doorknob.

"It has been very odd," the neighbor said. "I've never seen anything quite like it."

Meanwhile, Collins is keeping her panties to herself.

Collins, British author of 29 New York Times bestsellers list novels, attacked E.L. James, the author of the Fifty Shades series, for her protagonist, the submissive Anastasia Steele (to be played by Dakota Johnson in the upcoming film.)

"I prefer women who kick ass and don't get their ass kicked," Collins said.

Collins is also known for steamy writing. One of her most popular characters is Lucky Santangelo, a daughter of the mob, who appears in seven of Collins' books.

"Lucky is the woman who inspires other women," Collins said. "I wanted to write a really strong female character who was not just a sex symbol."

Fifty Shades of Grey will be released by Focus Features on Aug. 1, 2014.
