'Hasta El Fin Del Mundo' Cast Change: Pedro Fernandez Replacement David Zepeda Talks Kissing Marjorie de Sousa, Show's Future
In the United States, many recently learned that Pedro Fernandez no longer plays Chava on "Hasta El Fin Del Mundo." The latest episode featured Marjorie de Sousa's character, Sofia, kissing Chava, who was then portrayed by Fernandez. When she opened her eyes, she had a new Chava by her side: David Zepeda's version.
Zepeda opened up to "El Gordo y La Flaca" about his character and joked about kissing scenes with De Sousa.
"We started with a kissing scene," he said. "Marjorie insists that we need to practice 10, 20 times before kissing scenes. And I'm like, 'Marjorie, the first one is all right.' But she insists, you know."
After joking around a bit, Zepeda teased that a really great part of the story is coming up. He described it as "intense," and that the love that exists between Chava and Sofia won't be contained any longer.
The telenovela's genre will change because of Zepeda's arrival.
"It's going to be less comedy, more of a melodrama," he said.
The actor called the change a "small" one.
Zepeda also said that he was very willing to sing the theme song for the show. Even if that meant he would have to sing the song that plays during the ending credits or in the background of the show, he was willing to take it on.
Zepeda began shooting scenes for the show in mid-November. He previously talked about being very grateful to producer Nicandro Diaz, who gave him one of his first opportunities.
"I remember that he gave me my second opportunity with Televisa with the telenovela 'Soy Tu Dueña,' where I play Alonso Peñalvert," he said. "I know his way of working, the responsibility that this job entails and the commitment to be 100 percent. Also, this story highlight values, especially for women, who for him are contemporary, active and hardworking."
