'Criminal Minds' Season 10 Episode 11 Spoilers: JJ Will Suffer from PTSD in 'The Forever People'
TV fans of "Criminal Minds" can expect more thrills and action when the long-running police procedural series returns to CBS next year.
"Dawson's Creek" actress Avery Clyde made a guest appearance as Amelia Porter during the last episode, which was aptly named after her mysterious character. The BAU also tracked down an Unsub involved in a triple homicide in Salt Lake City, Utah, which subsequently led the team to a fugitive from the past, reports the Hollywood Hills.
Although not much has been revealed about the upcoming all-new episode, "The Forever People," executive producer Erica Messer has revealed that it will dig deeper into JJ's kidnapping, which took place last season during the epic 200th episode.
According to Messer, the 11th episode will focus on JJ's character in wake of the tragedy, one year later. Because she has internalized the trauma, JJ will suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder that will resurface in different ways.
"It's coming out in unexpected ways. She's kind of internalizing it," Messer said, according to TV Guide.
Although her PTSD doesn't affect her job performance, it causes concern among her colleagues.
The producer also teased that JJ will turn to Spencer Reid as her "sounding board" in order to cope with her tragedy and get through it.
"I've always loved their friendship and this will bring them closer together," Messer said during a recent interview with TV Guide.
She added fans do not need to worry about it triggering any PTSD for Reid because he is mentally and emotionally sound at the moment.
"Emotionally, he's going to be so invested in JJ's story," she said.
Season 10, Episode 11 of "Criminal Minds," "The Forever People," will air in January 2015 on CBS. Click here for more "Criminal Minds" recaps and spoilers.
