This weekend, the holiday weekend officially begins and Hollywood will offer a number of fun films for the family.

For those not interested in heading out to the multiplex here is a list of fun films that will be available on DVD this week.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

For audiences not interested in "The Hobbit" or "Night at the Museum," the Michael Bay-produced actioner is a great choice.

The reboot tells the story of a group of mutated turtle warriors who must emerge from the shadows to protect their home when a crime kingpin, the Shredder, threatens New York City. Starring Megan Fox, the movie was one of the breakout hits of the summer and generated strong word-of-mouth. After a number of months at the box office, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" was able to make $191 million and became the most successful Ninja Turtles film ever. This new release clearly lived up to fans' expectations and it should definitely continue to play to fan boys of the original animated show.

The Maze Runner

With a slow September, "The Maze Runner" became one of the breakout hits and now has a sequel on its way. The film, based on the young adult novels by James Dashner, tells the story of Thomas, a boy who is deposited in a community of boys after his memory is erased, soon learning they're all trapped in a maze that will require him to join forces with fellow "runners" for a shot at escape. Fox intends to make a trilogy out of the series, which is one of the most popular young adult series in the past few years. The movie is definitely geared towards younger audiences, but it should intrigue fans of "Harry Potter" or even "Lord of the Rings." Additionally, for those who are interested a fun action movie, this is definitely a great choice.

Magic in the Moonlight

Woody Allen continues to be one of the most prominent and consistent filmmakers of his generation. This year, he assembled yet another fabulous cast which included Emma Stone, Colin Firth, Marcia Gay Harden, and Jacki Weaver and made a sweet Romantic comedy that ended up being one of the breakout Indie films of the summer. The film tells the story of an Englishman who is brought in to help unmask a possible swindle. During his investigation, personal and professional complications ensue. While the film scored mixed reviews, audiences still enjoyed the movie. "Magic in the Moonlight" went to make $10 million at the box office and demonstrated that Allen is still a box office draw. The film will likely appeal to adult audiences and enthusiastic Woody Allen fans.

This Is When I Leave You

The new comedy by Warner Bros tells the story of four grown siblings who are forced to return to their childhood home and live under the same roof together for a week, along with their over-bearing mother and an assortment of spouses, exes and might-have-beens, when their father passes away. The movie, starring Jason Bateman, Rose Byrne, Tina Fey, Corey Stoll, Jane Fonda and Adam Driver, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it scored mixed reviews. As a result, when the film opened in September, enthusiasm was not high and it flopped. After two months, the movie was only able to make $34 million. With the holiday season on its way and a lack of comedies, this family comedy should definitely appeal to family audiences. Additionally, it should also appeal to adult audiences who want to see something other than the dramatic pictures currently at cinemas.

The week will also have two Indie films. Roadside Attractions will release the horror film "The Devil's Hand" while First Run productions will unveil "Levitated Mass."
