Lil Wayne might drop a new mixtape titled "Sorry 4 the Wait 2," ahead of his much delayed "Tha Carter V" album release.

The New Orleans emcee previously offered fans the first "Sorry 4 the Wait" project as an apology for keeping them waiting for "Tha Carter IV" album to be released. 

On Monday, Lil Wayne's longtime friend Fee Banks and Young Money Cash Money Billionaires President Mack Maine took to their Instagram accounts to hint that a sequel to Weezy's 2011 mixtape might be on its way, referencing the title in the captions:

The pair's latest social media posts come a little bit after Mack Maine revealed that Lil Wayne's highly anticipated record "Tha Carter V: will drop in early 2015. During the 

"He's working, touching up the album and about to start another special project for the people. I can't give a definite date. I can just say first quarter for sure," he said in a recent interview with Miami radio station 99 Jamz. "We're still in talks right now, trying to get the plans together. The industry shuts down towards the end of the year anyway. It's coming out. Don't get it twisted like it's not coming out. ... He wants it out, the fans want it out."

Lil Tunechi recently tweeted to express his frustrations with his label and its CEO, Birdman. Mack Maine was asked if YMCMB and Baby have delayed the release.

"It's a lot of stuff that goes on with putting an album out," he said. "It's way more behind-the-scenes that goes on with deadlines and stuff like that. Everybody should want this album to be out anyway in any company."

Lil Wayne has yet to confirm the "Sorry 4 the Wait 2" mixtape release.
