"La Voz Mexico" judge Julion Alvarez and Ricky Martin teamed up to sing a banda version of Martin's hit song, "Adios." But not everyone is a fan of the song that was transformed from pop to banda.

El Recodo's Julio Preciado explained to "El Gordo y La Flaca" why he wasn't happy with Martin and Alvarez's song, notes La Opinion.

"If it's all marketing, then it's fine, but the problem is being transparent," he said. "You can record 40 songs with different bands as a pop singer, and if they're not transparent, they are just going to be unmemorable. The public that follows banda is very zealous and they are not dumb. They know more about music than those who listen to pop. It's not like before."

Preciado continued to say that people aren't just going to accept anyone who decides to get into the banda genre.

"And the people want to get into this genre and believe that they can do it by saying 'Ricky Martin is here to sing with the band!'" he said. "I think not."

Martin has not responded to Preciado's comments, La Opinion states.

On Dec. 20, Martin had his mind on going back home. He shared an audio clip on HeyHey, a new social media platform that is gaining popularity with Latinos.

In the short clip, Martin talks about already being able to hear the sounds that define home for him. He ended the clip by using an audience cheering sound effect.

In another clip, Martin said he hadn't had his morning coffee yet but was already happy. This clip was ended with an elephant trumpeting sound effect.

To accompany the clip, he said on Twitter, "I woke up high! And I haven't had #coffee yet! Happy! #GoodThings! #GoodTimes! Wish u all the same!"
