'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Cast, Release Date & News: Film to Debut at Berlin Film Festival; Soundtrack Updated
As the premiere of the highly anticipated “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie nears, fans continue to get more and more information that is released ahead of the film. Perhaps to increase the movie’s hype or simply to soothe the thirst of millions of fans, a song featured in the movie, by The Weeknd, was released.
The song, titled “Earned It,” was released last week via social media. A lyric video was also released and can be watched below.
The Toronto singer, best known for pairing up with Ariana Grande in her hit song “Love Me Harder,” sings beautifully, hitting high pitches perfectly while cellos and piano accompany the lyrics.
As HollywoodLife.com explains, the song’s lyrics represent very well Christian Grey’s relationship with Anastasia Steele as well as his emotional connection with her.
“‘Cause, girl, you’re perfect/ You’re always worth it/ And you deserve this/ The way you work it/ ‘Cause, girl, you earned it,” sings The Weeknd.
As soon as the song hit the Internet, in the middle of the night, both The Weeknd and the official “Fifty Shades of Grey” account spread it throughout Twitter.
The Weeknd then thanked “Fifty Shades of Grey” fans for supporting his song and liking it, which appears to be the case within social media.
In other “Fifty Shades of Grey” news, Entertainment Weekly reports that the film will be premiered at the Berlin Film Festival on Feb. 11. Though they do not provide much more information on who will attend, it is safe to assume director Sam Taylor-Johnson as well as stars Jamie Dornan (Christian Grey) and Dakota Johnson (Anastasia Steele) will attend.
“Fifty Shades of Grey” will premiere in the U.S. on Feb. 13.
