Univision & Telemundo Telenovelas: 'El Señor de los Cielos,' 'Que te Perdone Dios' & 'Cuna de Lobos' Remake Debuting in 2015
As with any new year, viewers can expect a slew of different shows to premiere on their favorite networks. Univision and Telemundo have announced a few of the shows that will begin in 2015.
Here's a look at eight telenovelas you will be watching in the coming year.
1. "El Señor de los Cielos"
The popular Telemundo telenovela will be starting its third season in January, actress Carmen Villalobos told Latin Post.
The show follows drug trafficker Aurelio Casillas, but just being well known isn't enough for him. He wants to be the one who takes Pablo Escobar's place, according to Telemundo.
For the third season, El Chacorta actor Raul Mendez will not be returning, according to Latin Times.
2. "Que te Perdone Dios"
This show will premiere on Univision on Jan. 19, 2015. Zuria Vega, Mark Tacher will star in the "Abrazáme Muy Fuerte" remake. It will also feature Altair Jarabo as a villain, according to Univision.
The show follows a young girl who grows up believing the wrong woman is her mother. She is also in love with a man that she believes she can never be with.
3. "Quiero Odiarte Pero Te Amo"
This Salvador Mejia telenovela will air on Univision, and it will star Ivan Sanchez and Ana Brenda. The show is inspired by "La Mentira."
Grettell Valdez will be the villain, and it will tell the story of two sisters. One is good, and the other pretends to be good but is really out to hurt her sister.
4. "Dueños del Paraíso"
Kate del Castillo will star in Telemundo's newest telenovela. She will portray Anastasia Cardona in 1970s Miami, and according to the network, Anastasia will learn that the life she has known is a lie.
This show will begin on Jan. 13, 2015.
5. "Amores Con Trampa"
Itati Cantoral, Eduardo Yanez and Ernesto Laguardia will star in this Univision telenovela. It is a remake of Chilean novela "Somos Los Carmona."
Jose Eduardo Derbez and Sofia Castro will play the young couple in the show. The show follows a family that moves from the country to the city.
6. "Cuna de Lobos" remake
This Univision telenovela is still in the planning stages, but in 2015, the infamous villain Catalina Creel will make her return.
Carlos Moreno will be producing the show, and the search is underway for the perfect Catalina. "Cuna de Lobos" follows the story of a manipulative mom, who has no problem killing or hurting others to get her way.
7. "La Vecina"
This show will star Esmeralda Pimentel and Juan Diego Covarrubias, and it will be a remake of "Solamente Vos."
For Pimentel, it will be a change of pace. It will be the first time she stars in a humorous show.
8. "Simplemente Maria"
Producer Ignacio Sada announced on social media that he would be working on a new version of the show that Victoria Ruffo originally starred in, according to Univision. No leading lady is officially attached to the project yet.
